Opmerkingen

San Marino has no central bank of issue and no domestic currency — the republic uses the euro under a monetary agreement with the EU, and issues no circulating banknotes of its own. A "paper" note attributed to San Marino in 2025 almost certainly belongs to the fantasy or novelty note category, produced for the souvenir and collector market rather than any monetary authority. Such items carry no legal tender status anywhere.

The Porta San Francesco is one of the medieval gates in the third defensive wall of San Marino's capital. Its appearance on souvenir notes is common; its appearance on anything with genuine numismatic standing is not.
