This 50 Ringgit postal order, issued under Pos Malaysia rather than Bank Negara, sits outside the conventional banknote series entirely — it is a remittance instrument, not legal tender, redeemable through the postal network rather than the banking system.
The Labuan designation on a postal order of this value is uncommon enough that surviving examples rarely appear in trade, partly because high-denomination postal orders were typically cashed promptly and the stubs discarded.
