This piece is part of the Native American $1 Coin Act program — but that covers dollars, not quarters. A copper-nickel quarter at 6.3g attributed to the Jamul Indian Village merits scrutiny: Jamul, a small Kumeyaay band in San Diego County, has not issued federally recognized coinage, and no U.S. Mint program produced a Choctaw-themed quarter in 2018 under tribal authority. The America the Beautiful series ran quarters through 2021, but none attributed to Jamul. This cataloging may conflate separate issues or reflect a privately minted novelty piece.
