A modern replica of a fourth-century BC Macedonian drachm struck at the Lampsakos mint, one of Alexander's western Asia Minor mints active following his crossing of the Hellespont in 334 BC. Lampsakos issues are distinguished from other regional mints in the series by subtle die characteristics that specialists have catalogued extensively, none of which this reproduction attempts to replicate with any fidelity.
