| Reverse description | Stylised horse with three tails prancing left, its body formed of annulated rings in the distinctive Celtic schematic manner. A floral or rosette motif occupies the field below the horse, while an abstracted bird's head device appears above, serving as a tribal or dynastic emblem. The composition is typical of the Dobunnic Cotswold Eagle series, with negative space used effectively within the irregular flan. |

| Additional information |
The Dobunni occupied a territory centered on what is now Gloucestershire, and their coinage developed largely in isolation from the more politically volatile tribes to the southeast. This particular class sits within a typological sequence that numismatists have used to map the tribe's internal dynastic transitions — the classification into subgroups was substantially refined by Van Arsdell in 1989, replacing earlier Mack attributions that had conflated distinct die families. At roughly a gram, these units circulated as functional silver, not prestige objects.
No ruler name appears on this class — the named Dobunnic series comes later, with issues attributed to rulers such as Anted and Eisu.
