Tasciovanos ruled the Catuvellauni from roughly the late first century BC, almost certainly operating from Verulamium — modern St Albans — which appears abbreviated on his coinage as VER. Findspot distributions for his silver units cluster heavily in Hertfordshire and Essex — the Catuvellauni-Trinovantian heartland before the two tribes merged under Cunobelin.
