Reverse description The reverse features the stern of a trireme galley shown in three-quarter perspective, with the curved aphlaston (stern ornament) rising gracefully above the hull and multiple oar-banks rendered in precise horizontal lines below. The two-line Greek legend ΕΥΣΘΕΝΗΣ / ΦAΣH is inscribed in the upper field to the right of the stern, identifying the magistrate Eusthenes and the city of Phaselis. The composition is set on a plain, slightly irregular flan characteristic of hand-struck Hellenistic civic issues.
