| Obverse description | Hammered gold flan of irregular round form bearing a multi-line Arabic legend executed in bold, flowing Thuluth script filling the entire field. The inscription names the sultan as Selim Shah son of Suleiman Khan with the pious invocation 'May he be victorious,' followed by the mint name Aleppo (Halab) and the regnal year 974 AH rendered in Arabic-Indic numerals at the base.
