No $10,000 Gold Certificate was ever produced in this physical format for general circulation. The genuine large-format Gold Certificates of that denomination — Series 1900 and 1907 — were used exclusively for interbank transfers and Federal Reserve transactions, never passed across a counter. What is described here as a "fantasy note" is a modern novelty item made to approximate a denomination that most Americans never saw and few institutions actually handled.
