| Beschrijving keerzijde | Apollo seated left upon the omphalos, his figure rendered in a schematic, barbarized adaptation of the Macedonian prototype. The deity is depicted testing an arrow held in his extended right hand, while his left hand rests upon a bow set upright beside him. Behind the seated figure appears a series of zigzag strokes imitating a legend, a pseudo-inscription characteristic of Arabian imitative tetradrachms that reproduces the appearance of a Greek legend without forming legible text. The composition faithfully echoes the reverse type of Alexander III tetradrachms while betraying its local, non-Hellenic production context. |
