| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of Cleopatra VII facing right, rendered in high relief in the Hellenistic portrait tradition. The queen's hair is elaborately styled, drawn back and secured beneath a broad diadem, with a characteristic melon coiffure visible at the nape. Facial features are rendered with individualistic realism — a pronounced nose, defined chin, and strong profile characteristic of late Ptolemaic portraiture. The bust is draped, with the folds of the garment indicated at the truncation. No legend appears on the obverse, the portrait filling the flan to the borders of the irregularly shaped hammered planchet. |
