| Obverse description | The brass centre features the Chilean national coat of arms in high relief, depicting a quartered shield charged with a five-pointed star, supported on the dexter by a huemul (Andean deer) and on the sinister by a condor with open wings, both rendered in fine detail. Above the shield rises a crest of three ostrich feathers. The entire heraldic composition rests on a decorative scroll base. The surrounding nickel ring carries the legend REPÚBLICA DE CHILE arcing along the upper periphery in raised Latin capital letters. The lower portion of the ring is plain, framing the central device. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is visually identical to the obverse, presenting the Chilean national coat of arms in the brass centre with the quartered shield, condor and huemul supporters, and feathered crest above. The nickel outer ring bears the same inscription REPÚBLICA DE CHILE along the upper arc in raised Latin capital letters. This uniformity on both faces is characteristic of a trial strike or pattern piece, where the definitive reverse design had not yet been finalised. The field of the ring is otherwise plain and unadorned. |
