Reverse description The reverse is filled with a multi-line Arabic inscription in flowing calligraphic script, arranged across the field in several registers. The legend proclaims the Sultan's titles, identifying him as ruler of the two lands and sovereign of the two seas, and as Sultan son of Sultan, referencing his Ottoman dynastic lineage. The inscription fills the flan to the borders, with the text distributed symmetrically within the beaded circular border. The style is consistent with Ottoman provincial gold coinage struck at Tripoli during the reign of Abdulhamid I.
