ZIN — the Serbian state security printer — periodically issues internal test notes to verify ink adhesion, substrate behavior, and machine tolerances before committing to a production run. These are never released into circulation and are typically destroyed after quality control is complete, which makes any surviving example a product of unofficial retention rather than sanctioned distribution.
The Mercedes designation is an internal production code, not a series name. Such codes are common among European security printers and carry no public meaning.
