EuroSouvenir notes are legal-tender novelties in name only — issued at face value of zero, they are sold at a premium to tourists and collectors and carry no redemption obligation. Oberthur Fiduciaire prints them on genuine 100% cotton banknote stock with embedded watermarks, which gives them a tactile authenticity that separates them from ordinary souvenir paper. The format was officially sanctioned by the European Central Bank under strict design rules preventing confusion with actual euro currency.
Roussana Alex Nowakowska designed this 2021 beaver-themed issue, one of a large and growing series of wildlife and heritage subjects produced under the EuroSouvenir program.
