| 表面の説明 | Bare-headed effigy of Queen Victoria facing left, rendered in the Young Head portrait designed by William Wyon, with flowing hair swept back and secured by a decorative fillet or band. The hair is elaborately arranged in soft waves falling to the nape, with a coiled chignon at the rear. The Latin legend encircles the bust along the periphery, interrupted by the date at the lower exergue. A fine toothed border frames the entire obverse field. |

Jersey's fractional shilling denominations were calculated against the local count of 13 pence to the shilling — a survival of the island's pre-decimalization accounting system that diverged entirely from sterling practice. The States of Jersey issued this copper piece under royal sanction but with full local authority over the denomination structure, reflecting the island's status as a Crown dependency rather than part of the United Kingdom proper.
The KM#3 type spans nearly a quarter century of production, during which die quality and copper alloy consistency varied considerably across the series.
