A "personalpils" — a staff beer token — is a recognized category in Scandinavian notaphily, issued by restaurants, hotels, and institutions as internal scrip entitling employees to a beer during or after a shift. Ridderhallen, a Copenhagen restaurant and banquet venue, issued these as a practical alternative to cash advances against a meal benefit. The half-pils denomination suggests a tiered system was in use, implying at least a full-pils counterpart existed in the series.
