| 正面描述 | Bare-headed effigy of Queen Victoria facing left, her hair drawn back in a chignon with flowing wavy locks framing the face, after the celebrated 'Young Head' portrait modelled by William Wyon. The legend VICTORIA D:G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F:D: curves around the periphery, with the date below the truncation at the bottom of the field. A fine dentilated border frames the entire design. |

Jersey's fractional copper coinage was introduced following the 1834 currency reform that attempted to rationalize the island's chaotic monetary situation, where French sous, English pennies, and local tokens had circulated interchangeably for decades. The 1/26 shilling denomination — peculiar to Jersey alone — derived from the island's practice of reckoning 13 sous to the shilling, with the coin representing half a sou in English terms.
The series ran through Victoria's early reign with minimal modification. KM#2 pieces from the 1841 issue tend to show sharper definition than later strikes, as the dies had not yet degraded from extended use across the two-decade production run.
