A large arched central vignette presents a detailed landscape view of the Landgräfliches Jagdschloss — the former hunting lodge of the Landgraves, later the warehouse of the Electoral Hessian Trading Company and at the time of issue serving as the Rathaus of Carlshafen — set against a wooded hillside reflected in calm water. Denomination roundels inscribed '1.50 M' appear in the upper corners, flanking the town name 'Stadt Carlshafen' arched across the top.
