Beschrijving voorzijde At left, an intaglio vignette of the Grand Mosque of Kuwait (Al-Masjid Al-Kabir) is rendered with fine architectural detail. At upper centre, the Kuwaiti State Emblem — a golden falcon bearing a Boom dhow on its chest — appears above a secondary vignette of a Bateel dhow under sail. Guilloche underprint patterning in the De La Rue tradition fills the field, with bilingual inscriptions in Arabic and English across the upper margin.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse carries a pictorial composition evoking the Hellenistic archaeological heritage of Failaka Island, incorporating classical architectural motifs drawn from the island's excavated ruins within a structured guilloche border. Denomination numerals appear at left and right, with issuer inscriptions rendered in both Arabic and Latin script across the upper register.

Opmerkingen

Kuwait's 7th series, to which this note belongs, was introduced in 2014 following a design overhaul driven largely by counterfeiting concerns — the previous 6th series had circulated since 1994 and its security profile was considered outdated. Thomas De La Rue's involvement with Kuwaiti currency printing stretches back decades, and the relationship has been unusually consistent by regional standards.

Pick 31 is the lowest denomination in the series, which partly explains why it turns up in heavily circulated condition more often than any other value in the set.
