| Reverse description | Printed in dark brown and olive on a fine guilloche underprint, the reverse carries a row of Chinese characters along the top edge reading "大西洋國海外滙理銀行" (Banco Nacional Ultramarino in Chinese). The bank name in Latin script occupies a central horizontal band, below which a large circular vignette contains the Portuguese royal coat of arms surrounded by an ornamental wreath. Denomination cartouches reading "$1" with Chinese numeral "壹圓" are placed symmetrically to the left and right, while "UMA PATACA" and "DILI (TIMOR)" appear in bold letterpress towards the lower centre, with the printer's imprint at the foot. |
