正面描述 Printed in dark blue ink on a light green-grey paper, the obverse is dominated by a central vignette of the Montenegrin royal coat of arms — a double-headed eagle surmounted by a crown beneath a canopied mantle with radiating rays — flanked on either side by large numeral '1' denominators set within intricate guilloche panels. The upper portion carries a Cyrillic bearer clause and denomination panel, while the lower section bears the place and date of issue, Cetinje, 1 October 1912, along with two manuscript signatures above their respective titles. The entire design is enclosed within an elaborate ornamental border of interlocking floral and geometric motifs with cross medallions at the corners.

备注

Montenegro's 1 Perper of 1912 was among the first paper currency issued by the principality — which had only formally declared itself a kingdom in 1910. The Main State Treasury, not a central bank, was the issuing authority, reflecting how rudimentary Montenegro's financial infrastructure remained at the time. The Unie printing house in Prague was a logical choice: Czech printers handled a disproportionate share of peripheral European state printing work in this period, and Austro-Hungarian facilities offered quality that Cetinje could not.

The timing matters. These notes entered circulation just as the First Balkan War began, meaning much of the early print run would have passed through a country actively at war within months of issue.
