Opmerkingen

Provincial emergency currency issued under Japanese occupation, when the Philippine Commonwealth government — operating in exile or in fragmented guerrilla capacity — authorized local administrations to print their own scrip to keep commerce functioning. Capiz Province, on the northwest coast of Panay, was among several Visayan provinces that issued notes independently during this period.

The S-prefix in the Pick reference denotes regional or guerrilla issue. Survival rates vary considerably across the provincial series — Capiz notes tend to surface less frequently than those from larger Visayan centers like Iloilo.
