| Obverse description | Portrait of King George VI in military uniform at right, set within an ornate guilloche border. The Fijian coat of arms occupies the upper centre, flanked by guilloche rosettes and a large blank oval underprint at left. Inscriptions below the coat of arms read GOVERNMENT OF FIJI and ONE POUND, with the legal tender clause and date of issue. Three manuscript signatures appear at the lower centre above the title COMMISSIONER OF CURRENCY. |
