| Obverse description | The obverse features a raised relief map of Azerbaijan, including the Nakhchivan exclave, occupying the central field. The legend AZƏRBAYCAN RESPUBLİKASI curves along the upper periphery in Latin script. The denomination numeral '1' and the value inscription 'QƏPİK' appear in the lower field beneath the map. The design is rendered in a clean, modern style with a plain inner border adjacent to the raised rim. |

| Additional information |
Azerbaijan's qəpik coinage was introduced following the 2006 redenomination, in which the new manat replaced the old at a rate of 5,000 to 1 — a corrective measure after the original manat had been decimated by post-Soviet hyperinflation in the early 1990s. The copper-plated steel construction was a deliberate cost-reduction choice, standard practice for low-denomination coins in economies still consolidating monetary infrastructure after independence.
