| Obverse description | Central field features the coat of arms of the Republic of Crimea, depicting a heraldic shield with a griffin passant above a stylized landscape, surmounted by a radiant sun motif. The shield is flanked by decorative supporters. The legend РЕСПУБЛИКА КРЫМ (Republic of Crimea) arcs across the upper field in Cyrillic characters, with the motto ПРОЦВЕТАНИЕ В ЕДИНСТВЕ (Prosperity in Unity) inscribed below the arms. The date 2014 appears in the lower exergue. The entire design is contained within a beaded border. |

Crimea's ambiguous political status following the March 2014 annexation spawned a cottage industry of "fantasy" issues — coins struck for a jurisdiction that has no independent monetary authority and never will. These pieces circulate among collectors, not economies, produced by private mints exploiting the novelty of a disputed territory's name on a coin flan.
The White-headed duck, Oxyura leucocephala, does winter along the Black Sea coast — so at least the wildlife choice is geographically defensible.
