| Obverse description | Printed in red on a light background, the obverse bears a portrait of President Sukarno at left in military uniform and peci cap, set against a guilloche underprint with floral and foliate ornaments flanking the central text panel. The large denomination inscription "SATU RUPIAH" is rendered in bold letterpress at centre, surmounted by "REPUBLIK INDONESIA" and followed by "MENTERI KEUANGAN" with a facsimile signature and the year 1961 below. The overprint "IRIAN BARAT" appears in a panel at the lower right, indicating this note's specific regional issue. |
