Comments

Da Afghanistan Bank introduced this denomination as part of the post-Taliban monetary reconstruction effort that began in 2002, when the afghani was redenominated at a rate of 1,000 old units to 1 new afghani to eliminate the chaos left by years of competing regional currencies and warlord-issued notes. The 1387 solar year corresponds to 2008 CE in the Gregorian calendar — Afghanistan uses the Solar Hijri calendar for official dating, which occasionally causes confusion in Western catalog references.

The P#67A designation distinguishes this from closely related signature varieties within the same series.
