The entire field is underlaid with a pale orange-toned, fine-line underprint reproducing a Mayan ruler or deity in the manner of Classic Maya stele carving, distinguished by an elaborate feathered headdress. The Maya is a commemorative unit tied to Honduras's pre-Columbian heritage promotion, issued in limited runs rather than through general circulation channels, which makes conventional condition assessment largely beside the point.
