正面描述 Teal guilloche border frames the bond face, with the Vietnamese state emblem at top centre. The denomination MỘT NGHÌN ĐỒNG is printed in large red letterpress text across the centre, set over an oval guilloche underprint. A vignette of an industrial or infrastructure scene appears at lower centre, flanked by ornate latticework side panels.

背面描述 Printed in orange and teal on plain paper, the reverse serves as a transfer and registration form. A central orange guilloche rosette vignette divides the lined fields designated for buyer identification and transfer details. The layout is purely functional, with ruled lines for handwritten entries and a guilloche border in pale orange.

备注

Vietnam's Ministry of Finance — rather than the State Bank — issued paper currency throughout much of the subsidy-period economy, a structural arrangement that reflected the government's direct administrative control over monetary supply during the pre-Đổi Mới years. This 1987 note predates the sweeping economic reforms announced that same year, which would eventually transfer issuance authority and expose the full scale of the inflation crisis that had made denominations like this one necessary in the first place.

Hyperinflation in the late 1980s rendered the 1000 Đồng nearly worthless within a few years of printing.
