Adada was a small city in Pisidia, a mountainous interior region of Asia Minor that resisted Hellenization longer than its coastal neighbors and retained a fiercely local character well into the Roman provincial period. Civic bronze issues like this one were struck autonomously, filling the gap left by the absence of royal or imperial coinage at the local transactional level.
