| Description de l’avers | The obverse features a central medallion depicting a Madonna and Child motif in high relief, rendered in a Byzantine-influenced artistic style. Surrounding the central roundel is an elaborate ornamental design of intertwining floral and foliate scrollwork, incorporating stylized tulips, roses, and dove motifs that fill the field. At the top center, the small state emblem of Ukraine — the trident (tryzub) — appears within a shield. The Cyrillic legend УКРАЇНА curves along the upper periphery, while ГРИВЕНЬ arcs along the lower periphery, with the denomination 20 and date 1996 inscribed below the central medallion. Engravers' marks appear at the lower left and right of the central roundel. |

| Description du revers | The reverse presents a detailed architectural rendering of the Tithe Church (Desiatynna Tserkva) in Kyiv, depicted as a multi-domed Byzantine-style basilica with numerous cupolas crowned by Orthodox crosses, shown in perspective view occupying the central field. The inscription КИЇВ ДЕСЯТИННА ЦЕРКВА curves in bold Cyrillic letters along the upper arc of the coin. To the left and right of the church, small decorative mythological figures appear in the field. The founding date 996 is inscribed vertically along the right inner border. At the lower portion of the coin, a ribbon scroll bears the inscription ДУХОВНІ СКАРБИ УКРАЇНИ (Spiritual Treasures of Ukraine). |
