| Beschrijving voorzijde | The national coat of arms incorporating a Bird of Paradise vignette is positioned in the left field, flanked by two facsimile signatures designating the Governor and the Secretary, Department of Treasury. Papua New Guinea adopted polymer for its banknotes earlier than most Pacific nations, and this series was produced by Note Printing Australia at a time when NPA held an almost monopolistic position supplying polymer currency across the Pacific and Southeast Asia. The transparent window on this note was a relatively early application of that feature for the denomination.
Three distinct signature combinations across the series reflect genuine administrative change at the Bank — Leonard Kamit's tenure as Governor ended in 2009, with Loi Bakani succeeding him, while Wilson Tossali remained as Deputy throughout.
