| Obverse description | Printed in red and black on a pale ground, the centre of the note is dominated by a large vignette of the crowned Polish eagle displayed within an ornate oval cartouche, flanked by scrollwork and ribbon banners. Denomination numerals '20' appear in red within decorative frames at upper left and right, with the title inscription 'MAREK POLSKICH' in bold letterpress across the top. Two columns of text flank the central vignette: the left bearing the German guarantee clause dated 9 December 1916 and signed by the Warsaw General-Governorate, the right carrying the anti-counterfeiting warning; the date '1917' and a red oval control stamp with eagle appear at lower right. |
