| Description de l’avers | Typeset note with a serrated border frame throughout. The upper portion carries Dutch text in letterpress, headed by letter designation 'Lett: F.' and number 'Num°' at top, followed by the denomination line 'Goed voor 20: Rds. of 12: gecart: Ducatons.' A lengthy Dutch certification text body attests to the bearer's entitlement, payable at Batavia, valid at Amboina, Banda, and Ternate. Below the Dutch text, a block of Malay-Arabic script in Jawi characters repeats the tenor of the note. At lower centre, a circular VOC handstamp and multiple manuscript signatures authenticate the document, dated 'Amboina in het Kasteel Victoria, den 29. Maart 1809.' |
