Opmerkingen

Bulgaria's postwar financial position in 1919 was dire. The Treaty of Neuilly, signed November 1919, imposed heavy reparations on the country following its defeat as a Central Powers ally, and the Bulgarian National Bank was effectively printing its way through a sovereign debt crisis. The 2000 Leva denomination — unusually large for the period — reflects the inflationary pressure already building in the domestic economy before the reparations burden had even fully landed.

The P#26H suffix designation indicates a late signature or control variety within a long-running series, which complicates precise dating within the 1919 issue year.
