The specimen format means it was never intended for circulation, produced strictly as a reference piece for archival or collector distribution.

Polymer substrate adoption by Casa de Moneda came relatively late compared to regional peers like Brazil and Mexico, and this issue reflects the mint's testing and demonstrating of that capability.
