Edward VII died on May 6, 1910, making this the final year of his coinage. The Royal Mint continued striking dated 1910 pieces after his death, meaning some of these threepences were produced under George V's reign while still bearing his father's effigy — a routine administrative overlap that the Mint managed across all denominations that year.
