Tunisia's first post-independence banknote series arrived in 1958, but this 1962 issue represents Bradbury Wilkinson's second pass at the Banque Centrale series — the earlier notes had already introduced the basic format, and the 1962 printing refined the color separations and watermark registration. Bradbury Wilkinson's New Malden facility was, by this point, one of the most experienced security printers working with newly independent African and Middle Eastern central banks, handling everything from the plate engraving to finished delivery.

The "Western numerals" distinction in the catalog designation matters: Tunisia issued parallel runs using Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals for the same denomination, aimed at different regional distribution and literacy demographics within the country.
