正面描述 Left-facing bust of a Native Araucanian (Mapuche) chief occupying the central field, adorned with an elaborate feathered headdress and a tied headband with flowing ribbon. The legend CHILE is inscribed vertically along the left field, with the fineness indicator 0.72 positioned to the right of the portrait. The date 1926 appears in the lower field beneath the truncation. The coin is bordered by a raised beaded inner rim, and a small engraver's signature is visible at the lower right of the bust truncation.

附加信息

Chile's monetary reform of the mid-1920s was driven largely by the Kemmerer Mission — Edwin Kemmerer's U.S. advisory team, which restructured the currency systems of several South American nations in succession. This pattern was produced as part of that broader effort to stabilize and rationalize Chilean coinage following years of inflationary paper emission. The 1926 5 Pesos pattern in .720 silver was never adopted for circulation; the reforms ultimately moved Chile toward a new peso structure that rendered the denomination redundant before production could begin.
