Reverse description Vertical-format note centered on a detailed vignette of El Paraíso, the hacienda that serves as the setting of Isaacs's novel María, with a reproduced passage from the novel text occupying a substantial portion of the face. The Banco de la República seal appears at lower left, the face value in letters is printed at the bottom, and a horizontal panel at the upper right carries the denomination in both numerals and letters.
