The Bermuda Monetary Authority was established in 1969, taking over currency functions from the Bermuda Government, and has issued through De La Rue continuously since — a relationship that has kept Bermudan notes among the more technically consistent in the Atlantic region. This series ran across two signature combinations, with David Saul's name appearing on the 2000 dated notes; Saul had previously served as Premier of Bermuda before resigning in 1997 following a political crisis, making his presence on currency a somewhat pointed reminder of how quickly reputations shift in small-island governance.

Donald Scott's signature bridges both issue dates, providing the only continuity across the series.
