| 背面描述 | Facing portrait of President Léopold Sédar Senghor, depicted in suit and bow tie with spectacles, rendered in finely detailed relief at the centre of the field. The legend 'LEOPOLD SEDAR SENGHOR' curves along the upper periphery in Latin script. The inscription 'EURAFRIQUE' appears to the right of the portrait within quotation marks, and the date '1975' is inscribed at the base of the design. A beaded inner border frames the composition. |

The Eurafrique program was a short-lived cooperative development initiative linking the European Economic Community with associated African states under the Lomé Convention, signed in February 1975. Senegal issued this coin the same year, positioning it squarely within the optimism of that first Lomé agreement — a moment when genuine multilateral economic partnership between Europe and sub-Saharan Africa seemed politically plausible.
Most of the Eurafrique commemorative silver issues from Francophone West Africa were struck at the Paris Mint on contract, with mintages kept deliberately low for the collector market rather than circulation.
