Entre Ríos was one of several Argentine provinces that issued quasi-currency bonds — known as *patacones* in Buenos Aires province and *Federales* here — during the 2001–2002 economic collapse, when the federal government froze bank deposits under the *corralito* and provincial administrations ran out of pesos to pay salaries and suppliers. These notes circulated as de facto currency, accepted at face value by provincial tax offices and, under pressure, by many private businesses.

The two reference numbers likely correspond to different series or authorization dates within the same emission run — a common complication in cataloging Argentine provincial quasi-monies from this period, where printing proceeded in batches as fiscal needs escalated.
