| Reverse description | Against a deeply recessed, mirror-polished black field, the reverse presents an allegorical composition contrasting war and peace. A large diagonal sword dominates the central field, its blade extending across the flan. At lower left, a modern infantry soldier advances in combat stance with rifle and pack, while at lower right a medieval armoured knight stands with shield and sword. A dove in flight, carrying an olive branch, rises above the sword hilt towards the jagged edge, symbolising peace. The bilingual legend 'WAR · PEACE' arcs along the upper border and 'GUERRE · PAIX' along the lower border, both rendered in bold raised capitals. |
