A large diagonal sword dominates the central field, its blade extending across the flan. At lower left, a modern infantry soldier advances in combat stance with rifle and pack, while at lower right a medieval armoured knight stands with shield and sword. A dove in flight, carrying an olive branch, rises above the sword hilt towards the jagged edge, symbolising peace.
