A partial partial Latin legend runs along the outer periphery within the beaded border, partially visible due to the irregular planchet shape. A second small circular Guatemalan countermark punch of 1838 is applied in the field, consistent with the Type I counterstamp series issued to validate foreign silver in circulation. |
