| Beschrijving voorzijde | Irregular hammered cob flan exhibiting the characteristic rough, uneven surfaces typical of macuquina coinage. A rectangular countermark applied by the Guatemala City Mint is prominently struck into the field, containing a small radiate sun or wheel device at its center, serving as the authentication mark of the State of Guatemala. Partial elements of the underlying host coin's design — including fragments of a crowned shield and cross — remain visible beneath and around the countermark impression. The flan displays the irregular, jagged edges and variable relief characteristic of emergency cob coinage produced by the hammered method. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Reverse of the hammered silver cob host coin, displaying the characteristic castle (tower) device of the Spanish colonial coinage tradition, rendered in bold, somewhat crude relief consistent with the hammered cob technique. Portions of the quartered arms — featuring the crowned castle of Castile — are discernible within the irregular flan, partially obscured by the rough and porous surfaces resulting from the primitive minting process. Fragmentary traces of the surrounding legend and cross pattern are visible at the flan edges, though largely lost due to the irregular striking and clipping. The overall fabric is consistent with a colonial Spanish-American 8 Reales macuquina host coin subsequently countermarked for circulation in Guatemala. |
