| Descrizione del dritto | Celticized imitation of the Athenian Athena head type, depicting a stylized helmeted bust facing right with pronounced, schematized curling hair rendered in a bold, granular relief characteristic of South Arabian die-cutting. The helmet is rendered in a simplified form consistent with local artistic conventions derived from the Athenian prototype. The facial features, including a large eye depicted in a distinctly non-Greek stylized manner, reflect the progressive abstraction applied by Sabaean engravers to the original Attic model. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical ancient die wear. |
