The field is plain on either side of the standard. The legend CAESARAVGVSTA, identifying the colonial mint city, appears in the outer circle, while the names and titles of the two duoviri monetales — M. PORCI and CN. FAD — along with the designation II VIR, are distributed around the periphery in Latin capitals. The reverse reflects the civic pride of the Roman colony of Caesaraugusta and its local magistrates responsible for issuing the coinage. |
